Job Description
- Installation, Configuration and Administration of EMC Networker 7.4.7.5,7.6 ,Symantec Backup EXEC 2010,Vranger 5.0 Platforms like windows and UNIX.
- Manage day to day Backup activity for Windows and Unix flavor clients
1. Client installation, Group configurations,Scheduleing.
2. Daily Monitoring failed backups and tracking.
- Manage and maintain the hardware Libraries ,Tapes
1. Configuring Tape libries like Sun,IBM.
2. Troubleshoot Tape library issues
3. Media management
- Worked on Reduplication technologies, VTLs
1. Configuration of VTLs
2. Capacity planning
3. Managing VTLs.
- Day to day trouble shooting on Backup issues using NMC and Command Line Interface.
- Monitoring & analyzing event, alert logs of Backup servers Like Networker, Symantec, Iron mount, Vranger etc..
- Managing server Performance and fine tuning
1. Backup analysis, SAN backups, LAN backups. Storage node configuration, Media Server configurations.
- Database backup knowledge.
1. SQL, Exchange etc…
- Hands on experience on Library Hardware issues
- Managing Windows OS, Unix related issues.
1. Basic trouble shooting of Unix, Redhat, Solaris.
2. Managing Patching of Windows backup servers.
- Following process in compliance with ITIL
Knowledge on Iron mount Connected Backup tool.
1. Basic knowledge Desktop and VM backups.
- Knowledge on SAN, Clarion, Brocade switches
2. Clarion, VNX, DD, and Brocade switches configurations.
3. LUN creation, Storage group creation, Zoning of switches etc.
- Manage day to day Backup activity for Windows and Unix flavor clients
